My name is Jacobo Prieto, and I have been captivated by toys for as long as I can remember.

What began as a childhood obsession has evolved into a lifelong passion, shaping both my personal and professional journey.

​

After completing a master’s degree in Industrial Design at Saint Martins College, UAL and gaining experience working in the toy industry, I decided to take the leap and create something truly my own. That’s when I ventured into the world of "designer toys" or art toys—a niche that embodies the idea that a toy matters as more than just a plaything; it becomes a work of art and a form of expression.

Through my creations, I reveal a wide spectrum of my personality and inspirations. My work blends satire, visual ambiguity, pop culture, comic art, and science fiction into unique pieces that challenge conventional ideas of what a toy can be. Each design is a reflection of artistic vision, with every detail thoughtfully considered to evoke curiosity and provoke thought.

The process of bringing these toys to life is managed entirely by the creator. From the initial sketches and conceptual design to modelling, handcrafting, and packaging, each step is carefully executed, demonstrating that a matter of toys is, in fact, a matter of creativity, dedication, and craft. It’s a labour of love that combines artistry with meticulous attention to detail, resulting in original, one-of-a-kind pieces.
